London fashion week 2014 makeup inspiration

London fashion week… Where we see all our fave celebs sitting poised (or sometimes looking bored) at the front row checking out the up coming seasons latest trends.
Granted, us mere mortals probably wouldn’t get away with many of the looks that emerge. Can’t see myself popping to the local wearing what looks like a ostrich draped over our shoulders up to our neck, but the catwalk looks do filter down to our high street and we end up wearing the same colours, material, prints etc and the make up looks are also inspiration.
Here’s a round up of my favourite make up looks seen on this years catwalks.

1. Smokey smudgy eyes. Staying as a firm favourite through spring/summer & now autumn winter, the rock chick ‘slept in my make up’ look was popular with make up guru Charlotte Tilbury nailing this for Tom ford. Simple to achieve, try roughly applying a black Kohl eyeliner to the whole of your top lid, and below your eye, then get a firm blending brush and blend to create a smudgey effect. Follow by lining your rims with the same pencil. Leave the mascara, or just apply to the roots and don’t bring it to the end of your lashes because you want to achieve this grungy style eye. Think cool, not glam.

2. Bare faced chic. Embrace your inner paleness! It’s so on trend to have a fresh, bare looking face. Use concealer and foundations to cover imperfections but ditch the bronzer, and apply minimal (if any) blush, and if you do want blush try a peach tone. Team with a bold brows and a dab of lip balm and your on to a winner. Below is the look for Nicol Farhi

3. My absolute favourite from the week, is the look from Burberry, perfectly modelled by Cara Delevigne. I LOVE a warm colour eye, and the red/copper eyes for this show were gorgeous. With bronzed skin and nude lips this look is super sexy.
