Summer loving essentials
I love this time of year! Sunny weather is always welcome…. I thought I’d write a quick post after being away in the heat last week with some beauty products I found awesome and easy to use when it’s hot to look after your skin & hair without fuss!
The best sunscreen I’ve ever used-
…RIEMANN P20 once a day sun protection. I was dubious about spending £20 odd on sunscreen as I’m usually just a Nivea (or similar)girl when picking up sunscreen, but my dads girlfriend had actually told me this was great so thought I’d give it a go….totally worth the money! I was out in the sun all day, and normally even though I always wear a minimum of factor 15 I tend to get a bit red on my chest or shoulders. I applied this twice a day…it’s dries instantly so absolutely no sticky feeling at all and dries almost instantly! Avaialble online or in good chemists/supermarkets etc.
Hair protection –
Aveda protective hair veil. I picked this up from the lovely guys in Vadatelier, Cowbridge when I last had my hair done. I haven’t looked after my hair brilliantly in the last couple of years, so I’m trying to condition and protect it a bit more at the moment. I didn’t want the sun to dry my hair out so picked up this great little spray which is basically sun protection for your hair. It has uv filters to protect the hair, so you just spritz on to damp hair, pop in your beach bag and reapply after swimming. My hair doesn’t feel dry or worse for being in the heat and sun, so I’m giving this the credit.
By Terry- baume de rose, tinted lip balm. ….probably my fave all year round product. I bought my first pot exactly a year ago and use it every day, leaving my lips shiny and free from being dry/flaky….I only ran out of it a week ago! I re- purchased but this time with a tinted version, exactly the same formulation just a little pinky which is nice, so I haven’t been bothering with lipstick or gloss day to day. Unfortunately nowhere locally stocks this, so you’d have to purchase online via Selfridges or space nk
Multi purpose skin and haircare-
Nuxe Huile prodigiuese multi purpose dry oil spray. I could use this all day just for the smell! This gorgeous dry oil can be used to rehydrate and soften skin on face and body and also a couple of sprays in the mid lengths to ends of the hair leaves it silky and frizz free. I use this on my body to preserve my tan and keep skin soft. Marks and spencer now stock this in the larger stores with a beauty section, otherwise try the net.
The balm ‘Mary Lou’ highlighter. This has become a staple in my kit for work and personal use. This is the best gold glow powder highlight I’ve used. I really can’t be bothered to spend as long on holiday in the heat applying makeup, so this applied on the cheeks, the brow bone and Cupid’s bow gives a lovely glow.
I purchased this online, but I’m sure I saw it in superdrugs new beauty shop in Cardiff.
